The Uprising is an event that is meant to truly embody the essence of Mad River Glen. Bringing communities together, challenging, and a little against the grain. If you enjoy earning your turns and checking out new gear we want you there. If you want to test your skills, and I truly mean test your skills then come line up on the start line for our AT and Tele skimo races. Even if you have never tried skiing uphill before join us for our group skin and meet a community you never knew you needed.

Event Schedule :

10am - Group skin
11am - Last call for skimo race sign-up
12pm-1pm - AT skimo race
1pm-2pm - Tele skimo race
2:30pm - Race prizes
4pm - Demos End

Demos:
We will have an assortment of AT and Tele skis for you to try. Tele gear will be mostly NTN and NTN tech. There will be AT and Tele boots available but we will try to leave these for the folks that don't have any boots. That way we can get as many folks out on the hill as possible. The demo portion of the event will go to the majority of the day 9am-3pm. We ask you to try and get your demos in an hour before the event is over so that the generous reps can pack up and get home on time. Thank you for understanding. You will be able to use these demos for chairlift access or uphill access with the purchase of the appropriate pass.

Group Skin:
This is for EVERYONE. We encourage first-time skinners to join and learn the ropes. This will be at a very mellow pace and we will leave no one behind. We also would love to have seasoned uphillers join us for this, and encourage you to pass down some knowledge, share your beginning stories, and remember what it felt like when you were just starting. Who knows you might just meet your new skinning partner.

AT and Tele skimo races:
This race will be a mass start for each discipline. The course will be up Lower Antelope and Down Lynx-Beaver-Bunny back to the start line. There will be prizes for 1st,2nd, and 3rd in both AT and Tele.
This course is NOT for the novice uphill skier or downhill skier. Both of these runs are black bump runs and not your average black bump runs, they are Mad River Glen bumps. It will be classic MRG and really be "skin it if you can". With the course being challenging up and down please be considerate of others and DO NOT get out of control. Trust us the prizes won't be worth risking your life for.
