December, 21st:
What difference a week makes! This time last week we were skiing natural snow trails and woods with all things soft and powdery everywhere. With the recent big meltdowns earlier in the week, we are back on snowmaking trails only and skiing typical New England conditions for this time of year. Firm, variable and fast.   But there is optimism in the air. Have to give props where props are due to the mountain. The groomers skied very well this morning, with nice carvable, consistent corduroy from top to bottom if you got out early. Christmas week is fast approaching and Stowe locals passes will be blacked out from 12/26 through 12/31/23. Go out and get some turns in on the man made before the holiday crowds come in.  Get that ski stoke back from the Mighty Mt. Mansfield who was glowing in the cold morning sun today.
