Happy President’s Day!
We have had quite the return of winter of late. With well over a foot a half of snow since Friday, the backcountry is firing right now. Last night we received a nice refresh of 4 to 5 inches of cold blower thanks to lake effect snows overnight. Zones that were tracked out yesterday that were revisited this morning filled back in quite nicely. The sky is starting to turn blue as I write this report and it is an exceptional day to be out exploring and searching out the fresh.
Although it is a holiday and the ski resorts will be crowded and busy, this the perfect kind of day to slap some skins on and start walking to escape the crowds and find your little slice of heaven.
The weather for most of the week looks very favorable to get out and about, with a another warm up happening on Friday. There is a chance it could be a mixed event up high, so fingers are crossed that we dodge this bullet and continue to keep this powder train going. Get out there and take advantage of the very best conditions and overall cover we have had all season so far!
