Holy friggin (cold) smokes. The VT BC is firing off right now with another couple inches on top. The steeper bits and previously tracked out spots still have that hidden firm snow underneath. We think the sweet spot is that 20-25 degree pitch. This will have plenty of pitch to enjoy the fresh snow but not so steep you scrape everything off in one turn. If you are setting a new skin track get ready for your patience and your technique to be tested. With this new snow being so light it has a tendency to slip right off the crust layer right beneath it. This will mean mellower skin tracks with plenty of switchbacks.

Do whatever you have to do to get out there and enjoy this storm cycle. Call out sick, get up early, go out late, fake your own death (just for the week), it will be worth it and people will understand.
