The sky popped blue this morning and we were greeted with a beautiful sunrise. Yesterday’s brief precipitation medley in the morning left us with some crust at all elevations, but up high continues to deliver the best turns. North facing slopes that are staying protected from the wind continue to deliver good turns but overall conditions are quite variable. With powder in the coveted sheltered spots, wind effected and loaded snow in others as well as crust and a firm conditions, be prepared for a wide variety of conditions from top to bottom.  Down low is primarily all crust and wind effected, so be ready for some technical skiing.   With no new snow to report in over 4 days, you really have to look long and far and explore the many nooks and crannies to find uncut powder at this point, but it is out there. We do have some snow forecasted for this evening as well as a mixed bag of freezing rain, sleet and plain old rain for later tonight. Hopefully the upper elevations will deliver all snow, at least a dense snow that will bond and stick to the present surface.
