Winter is back! Thank you snow gods!
We received 6” of very dense and wet snow yesterday giving us that instant base that we really needed. It was just the kind of snow we were looking for to glue itself to all of the bare ground, rocks and sticks that last week’s melt down left for us.
Last night into this morning temperatures dropped and the snow dried out quite a bit, dropping another 6” of snow that skied very nicely this morning with soft, drifty turns. Keep in mind that this snow was also coupled with very strong winds, so if you are headed to the ski areas, bring your skins as there will most likely be issues running the upper mountain lifts today.
Forecasts are calling for continued upslope snows in the mountains today and through this evening, so we could receive another 6 to 12” in the upper elevations when it’s all said and done. March finally delivered for us with this snow that will hopefully stay put and provide us with the coverage we need to get us through for the rest of the season.
