March 12th
Yesterday’s additional snow finally stopped by late afternoon. The snow cleared last night and we were greeted with bluebird skies this morning. The backcountry is back in play after a what seems like a long wait for winter again.Â
Coverage has really improved with a lot of snow up high and its certainly drifted in places. There was still some pretty good winds last night so there are places where the snow is wind effected and turns can be funky at times. The snow has also settled a bit compared to yesterday’s storm skiing deluge but overall conditions are quite good.Â
Down low there is a lot open water as the ground is still not frozen. Â There as also still quite a bit of wind debris and down trees in the woods, so be aware and ski with care.
Although we are going to experience another warm up today, north facing areas should still hold some good snow through tomorrow morning. After that is very likely that the BC skiing will be put on pause again until we get some more snow.  Hoping for a return to winter soon.
There could be something brewing for next week. Fingers are crossed and keep up those snow dances. We still have a solid month or more snow potential.
