Wiiiiiindy. Finding the honey holes where the wind blew the snow is going to be the name of the game. None of us got into the backcountry but if its anything like Nosedive then some parts will be dust on crust, some will be fill with powder, and others will be very scratchy. We think that middle elevation will be the sweet spot. Up high it will be beat up by the wind, down low will still have that crust from the warm up. That middle elevation that has tighter trees or gullies to keep the snow better might be where to snow drifted off to. Get out there and explore and you might be presently surprised in some spots.Â
If you don't want to mess around with searching for the goods another option is to grab those Nordic skis. Going to Trapps or Stowe Nordic on a windy day like this could be a great move. Â
