Boom!
Mother Nature came through for us last night, with a foot of dense snow in the upper elevations, sticking to everything. This was exactly the kind of snow that we needed to bond and cover all of the rocks, stumps, moss and grass. If we can keep this base, this certainly sets us up for a great early December and will give Stowe a much needed jump start on expanding their terrain and trail count.Â
The snow above 2,000 feet this morning skied beautifully, but once you got down low it became very heavy and saturated and was challenging to turn. Keep that in mind when you are out today as conditions from top to bottom change drastically.Â
Additionally, this dense snow really gets the backcountry base started and gives us a great foundation to build on.Â
The forecast for the remainder of the week looks wintery, with a good chance of snow again on Tuesday and temperatures remaining cold enough at night for the mountain to continue to make snow. Fingers are crossed for no big warm ups. Could this finally be the winter we have all been waiting for? Only time will tell.
