The K2 Wayback skis are K2’s answer to a truly all mountain versatile ski for backcountry skiing. At 96- millimeters underfoot, we are talking about the ideal waist width for all conditions skiing. With a lightweight Paulownia and maple wood core, the skis are nimble, agile, and super quick from edge to edge. The addition of a carbon web adds stiffness without adding too much weight. The whole idea with backcountry skis is to be able to create a ski that is substantial enough to handle some serious descents without weighing you down on the uphill. With a 1550 gram per ski weight at 177 cm length, the skis are feathery light for the skin track. With the skin grommets ready for skins, these skis were made to go uphill, but are still skis are super downhill performers.
