The Lofoten Gore-Tex Jacket is Norrona’s pinnacle shell for big mountain freeride. Whether you’re chasing powder beyond the gates, dropping technical lines, or lapping storm days at the resort, this jacket brings uncompromising protection, comfort, and performance to every turn.
Developed with feedback from freeride athletes and built using 3-layer GORE-TEX® technology, this shell delivers the gold standard in weather protection—28,000 mm waterproof rating, complete windproofing, and high breathability (RET < 20) to keep you dry, focused, and fully stoked no matter the storm.
The fabric is a light and durable 40D recycled polyester face, paired with a recycled brushed flannel backer for added warmth and next-to-skin comfort. This construction keeps bulk down while delivering warmth and wind resistance for colder freeride days.
What makes it a freerider’s favorite:
Helmet-compatible storm hood with one-hand adjustment seals out spindrift and whiteouts
Asymmetrical cuffs and articulated elbows optimize fit, coverage, and mobility
Zip-off powder skirt with gripper elastic and a snap-seal system keeps snow where it belongs
Two-way underarm ventilation with water-resistant YKK® zippers for quick cool-downs on the skin track
Multiple pockets, including a Napoleon chest pocket, internal stash, keycard sleeve, and a dedicated radio pocket
Goggle wipe hidden inside so your vision stays as sharp as your line
Asymmetric drop tail adds extra protection on chairlifts or bootpacks
