Ascension Skins 26/27

The Ascension Skins are Black Diamond's ultra-durable nylon plush climbing skins, built for everything from one-lap dawn patrols to 10,000-foot days. They set the standard for uphill traction with efficient glide, and they are coated in Black Diamond's Gold Label glue.

Gold Label glue is designed to stick when you need it and rip quickly at transitions, and the nylon plush stays pliable and packable for repeated laps. The trade-off of nylon is glide: it grips better than mohair blends but will not slide quite as freely on long, flat approaches.

These are for touring skiers who want dependable, durable traction on steep skin tracks and plenty of laps. Pre-fixed tip and tail hardware, a reinforced tip loop that fits a wide range of ski tip shapes and a pre-cut bikini-style tail to reduce drag make them easy to live with.

Fixed lengths come in S for 152 to 164 cm skis, M for 159 to 171 cm, L for 166 to 178 cm, XL for 173 to 185 cm and XXL for 180 to 192 cm, and the updated STS adjustable tail gives 15 cm of adjustment. We trim skins to your skis at the shop.

We think these are the most reliable workhorse skins going, ready for every lap from the first snow to the last spring corn.
