The Black Pearl 88 is Blizzard's best-known women's ski, built on a W.S.D. Trueblend All Mountain woodcore of poplar and beech with women's specific FluxForm titanal construction. It has an 88 mm waist, a rockered tip and tail with camber underfoot, and measures 127.5/88/109.5 mm with a 14 m radius at 170 cm.
The trade-off of an 88 mm waist is float in deep snow. It is at its best on groomers, bumps and mixed conditions, and a wider ski will do more on a true powder day.
It is for intermediate to expert women who want one ski that can venture off-piste for the first time or trench hardpack for the ten millionth. Blizzard builds it around women-specific weight and leverage.
Sintered base, available down to 146 cm. Stop by and we will help you pick the right length.
We think the Black Pearl 88 is one of the best all-mountain skis a woman can own, confident, dynamic and fun on every run.

This guide is for alpine (downhill) skis. Ski length depends on your height, your ability, and how you like to ski. Use this chart as a starting point, then talk to us about the ski itself: rocker, width, and turn shape all change how long a ski feels.

Quick Rule
- Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
- Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
- Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
- Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.
Adjust For
- Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
- Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
- Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
