The Black Diamond HotForge Hybrid Quickdraw pairs a snag-free HotForge keylock carabiner on top with a redesigned lightweight HotWire wiregate on the bottom, joined by an 18 mm polyester dogbone. It is 12 cm long, weighs about 99 g and has a closed-gate strength of 24 kN.
The trade-off with a hybrid draw is that it mixes two gate types on purpose. The keylock top clips and unclips cleanly from bolts without snagging, while the light wiregate on the rope end keeps weight down and resists gate flutter.
It is for sport climbers who want a smooth, dependable everyday draw. A Straitjacket insert holds the bottom carabiner in the optimal clipping position, and the colored bottom carabiner is easy to spot on the harness.
The aluminum is 7075, with 25% pre-consumer recycled content.
