The Ascension Nylon STS is Black Diamond's nylon climbing skin, built for uphill traction and efficient glide. The nylon plush is durable, and Black Diamond says this version is 20% lighter and more packable than before. It weighs 1.07 kg per pair and comes in fixed lengths.

The trade-off of an all-nylon plush is that it favors grip and durability over the fastest possible glide. Skiers who want to save every bit of energy on long, flat approaches may prefer a mohair blend.

It is for ski tourers doing everything from short early-morning laps to full days with big vertical.

The tip and tail attachments come pre-fixed. The adjustable tip loop fits a range of ski tip shapes, the patented STS tail gives up to 10 cm of length adjustment, and a pre-cut bikini-style tail cuts drag and weight. Bring your skis in and we will help you get them trimmed.
