Petzl Tikka Core Headlamp

The Petzl Tikka Core is a compact rechargeable headlamp with a wide beam and up to 450 lumens. It runs on its CORE rechargeable battery (1250 mAh) or three AAA batteries, charges by USB-C in about 3.5 hours, and weighs 84 grams. White light has three levels, 7, 100 and 450 lumens, with up to 110 hours of burn time on the lowest setting. Red lighting, a lock function and an IPX4 rating round it out.

The trade-off is the beam shape. The wide pattern is made for comfortable close-range and ground lighting, so it is less suited to throwing a long, focused spot down a trail than a dedicated distance lamp. The USB-C cable is sold separately.

It is built for runners, hikers, campers and skiers who want one simple light for early starts, dark parking lots and evenings at camp.

A tilting plate lets you aim the beam, and the lamp can also be worn around the neck. A single button runs every mode, which keeps it easy with gloves on.

We think the Tikka Core is a great all-around headlamp for everyday adventures. Bright, light and easy to use, it is the one we would toss in any pack.
