The all-new Octo Birdie arrives as a playful disruptor—an all-terrain ski shaped by the creative DNA of the Mirus, infused with the UFO-like agility that’s defined blackcrows’ recent freestyle-carve evolution. Designed for skiers who want to mix sharp, angular arcs with effortless newschool maneuverability, the Octo Birdie is built to make every on-piste and side-piste run feel lively, intuitive, and just a little bit mischievous.
A narrow 84 mm waist and very short 14 m radius give the ski lightning-quick edge-to-edge response, allowing snappy transitions and tight carving lines. Classic medium camber underfoot provides the backbone—stable, grippy, and balanced—while the swallowtail adds a signature touch of style and releases the tail just enough for playful pivots, feathered slashes, and a surfy feel when you want it.
The flex sits in the sweet spot: intermediate and accessible, yet reactive enough to reward confident engagement. Whether you’re experimenting with carve tricks, playing with turn shapes, or simply chasing a more joyful frontside ride, the Octo Birdie brings a fresh, modern energy to every lap. Smile, carve, repeat.

Quick Rule
- Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
- Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
- Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
- Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.
Adjust For
- Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
- Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
- Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
