S/Lab is Salomon's top tier and MTN is its touring family, so the S/Lab MTN Summit is an uphill boot built to still ski properly. It weighs about 1 kg, walks through a 75° range of motion, and uses light Ultramid for shell and cuff, with a 70mm Dual Powerstrap, full rubber sole, waterproof gaiter and a 110 flex.

The trade is the one every 1 kg boot makes: free and quick on the skin track, and not a boot for driving big, heavy skis. Salomon's Touring Belt, a BOA dial linked to an internal ankle strap, locks the heel so it skis above its weight.

It is for skiers stacking long days and big vertical. If most of your days are lift-served with the occasional tour, a heavier hybrid will make you happier.

Salomon rates the width as medium. The My Custom Fit Tour Light liner uses Ultralon foam for a snug, precise wrap, and Custom Shell HD lets our bootfitters rework the lower shell or the whole shell and cuff in about ten minutes.

This is the boot we hand to the person whose plan is dawn patrol and whose goal is the summit. Light, quick, and genuinely fun on the way back down.

Ski boots are sized in Mondopoint, based on the length of your foot in centimeters. The chart below is a general reference for converting between sizing systems.

This chart is not a fitting. The only way to know your ski boot size is to be fit in person, either with a Boot Fitting at our shop or from a professional fitting you have had elsewhere. Sizing, shape, and volume vary by brand and model, and a performance fit is snugger than your street shoe. Unworn boots can be returned under our return policy, but a boot that doesn't fit can be a big hassle for your trip if you haven't tried it on.

Half Sizes

Ski boots are built with one shell for each full and half size, so a 27 and a 27.5 are the same boot with a different liner or footboard. That is why sizes are listed together, like 27/27.5.

Very few models differ from this. Scarpa is the main exception, pairing sizes the other way (for example, 26.5/27 share a shell). When a model is sized differently, we call it out on that product's page.
