The Dynafit Blacklight 80 is a high-end speed touring ski for ambitious skiers covering big distances and technical alpine terrain.
It is one of the lightest skis in its class, about 1,070g per ski in the 172cm. A 3D Speed Core of paulownia wood is topped with a 100 percent unidirectional carbon layer for a light, stiff ski that still handles variable snow.
A short tip rocker, long camber and a short tail with early rise keep it precise on firm snow and easy to steer. Sidecut is size-specific, so every length skis the same, and a 3D sidewall-cap with full ABS sidewall puts power to the edge.
Dynafit builds it to be a bit damper than the Blacklight Pro, so it is smoother when conditions get challenging.
It is a great tool for ski mountaineering, long skinning approaches and big days chasing steep lines.

Quick Rule
- Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
- Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
- Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
- Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.
Adjust For
- Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
- Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
- Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
