When the backcountry is deep and untouched, the Black Diamond Helio Carbon 108 is built to charge it. Designed for powder-hungry ski mountaineers and freeriders alike, this ski combines featherlight touring performance with the power and precision to rip big lines in variable snow. Completely redesigned with a new shape for 25/26, the Helio 108 floats effortlessly in soft snow while maintaining rock-solid edge hold when the conditions get firm.

At its core, the Helio Carbon 108 blends a pre-preg carbon fiber layup with an engineered poplar wood core to achieve the perfect harmony of strength, damping, and responsiveness. The result is a ski that feels smooth and composed at speed yet playful and poppy when it’s time to slash and surf. Early rise in the tip and tail adds float and maneuverability in deep snow, while full-perimeter 5mm beveled ABS sidewalls ensure precision, power, and durability when the descent gets technical.

From steep couloirs to bottomless powder fields, the Helio Carbon 108 is a fast, stable, and confidence-inspiring companion for those who live for big mountain touring days.

Quick Rule

  • Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
  • Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
  • Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
  • Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.

Adjust For

  • Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
  • Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
  • Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
