The Powder Rider 16 is a small, very light freeride pack built for short tours with big potential for deep snow. It holds 16 liters, weighs just 660 g and is made from 100% recycled 600D polyester.
An anatomically shaped contact back gives it a comfortable, stable fit in every turn. The trade-off is capacity: 16 liters fits the essentials, safety gear and a layer, but it is not the pack for full-day tours with lots of extra clothing.
Ortovox rates it top marks for both ski touring and freeride. It is for skiers doing quick laps, sidecountry runs or short tours who want their shovel and probe on their back without noticing the pack. There is a holder for safety equipment and front access to the main compartment.
Regular back length, with five compartments including a map pocket, a hip pocket and a bright interior. Diagonal ski carry with a wide fastener up to 150 mm, an integrated helmet net, a key holder, an emergency card, hydration compatibility and a chest strap with signal whistle complete it.
We think it is a perfect powder-day pack, light enough to forget and ready for every deep lap you can squeeze in.
