The Folkrm Kulshan is a folding, adjustable touring pole made for splitboarding and backcountry skiing. It has a 7075 aluminum alloy shaft in a three-segment collapsible design, adjusts from 105 to 135cm (42 to 54 inches), and packs down to 43cm (17 inches). It finishes with a tungsten carbide tip and a locking 3.5 inch freeride powder basket.
The trade-off for that packability is a pole with more joints and moving parts than a fixed-length resort pole, which is the price of folding down small enough to stash in a pack.
Kulshan is for splitboarders and ski tourers who want poles on the way up and want them out of the way on the ride down.
Length is set with an easy flip-lock mechanism across the full 105 to 135cm range. Folkrm's signature extended EVA ergonomic grip comes in a backpack-friendly size, the strap is removable, and the extended top cap is shaped to flip heel risers and binding toepieces.
We think it is a great all-day touring companion, comfortable on long approaches and easy to pack away when it is time to drop in.
