The BC Auto is Rottefella's step-in Back Country binding for nordic touring. It screws on to the ski and uses a step-in, step-out locking mechanism, so you can click in and go without bending over to work a lever. It weighs 444 g and measures 242 mm long.
The trade-off of a backcountry nordic binding is that it is built for touring, not for driving big alpine turns. What you get instead is a stable, simple platform that is easy to live with on long days.
It is for skiers heading out on rough terrain and mixed snow, whether that means climbing up through the woods or rolling off the groomed trails and into the backcountry.
