The Mount to Coast T1 is a women's trail running shoe built around LightCELL, a nitrogen-infused PEBA-based superfoam that Mount to Coast says is 50% lighter than EVA with 45% more energy return. It has a Vibram Megagrip outsole with 4 mm lugs, a 4 mm drop, and weighs about 8.2 oz in a women's size 8.
The trade-off is that it is a high-stack, cushioned shoe, around 33 mm at the heel and 29 mm at the forefoot, so it trades some ground feel for comfort and rebound over long distances.
It is for daily training and long runs on rocky, technical trails. The woven upper is reinforced with Kevlar yarn for durability and breathability, and the TunedFit dual lacing system adjusts the forefoot and midfoot separately, which helps when feet swell late in a long run.
It has a roomy toe box that lets your toes move naturally and comes in women's sizes 7 to 10 in a B width.
We love the T1 for long days on Vermont's rocky trails and the Long Trail when comfort mile after mile matters most.
