The 4FRNT Raven is a backcountry touring ski designed by Eric "Hoji" Hjorleifson. A 104mm waist and a fully rockered shape lift the tips above fresh snow, which makes breaking trail noticeably easier.
On the way down, that pre-bent rocker profile gives the Raven supreme maneuverability and smooth, surfy turns. It is at home in tight trees, steep chutes and technical terrain where quick pivots matter.
An Aspen and Maple core delivers strength and power underfoot, and carbon fiber stringers add energy and stability without a weight penalty. A flexible neoprene tip absorbs vibration and impact. 4FRNT's 4-Lock skin integration runs the skin strap through a hole in the tail, so the skin is locked to the ski instead of hanging on a clip that can slip off mid-tour.
The 170cm measures 120-104-111mm with a 29m radius at 1658g per ski, and the 190cm comes in at 1891g. It is available in 170, 177, 184 and 190cm. The trade-off of a full rocker is less edge grip on hard, icy snow than a cambered ski.
For skiers who earn their turns in deep snow and tight lines, the Raven is a light, playful touring ski that is built to charge once you have earned the descent.
Tech Features
Ski Shape
Built for touring, with a fully rockered profile, light weight and a mid-fat waist for float and easy turning.
4-Lock Skin Integration
A small hole in the tail lets a self-locking strap lock the skin to the ski, so there is no tail clip to slip off or fail.
Rocker
Early rise in the tip and tail improves float in soft snow.
Aspen Maple Core
Lively aspen blended with dense maple for strength, stability and power underfoot.
Neoprene Rubber Tip
Flexible neoprene in the tip absorbs vibration and impact for a smoother, steadier ride.
Carbon Stringers
Lightweight carbon fiber reinforcements add pop and stability without extra weight.

Quick Rule
- Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
- Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
- Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
- Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.
Adjust For
- Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
- Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
- Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
