The Women's Impulse Ti 104 is an all-mountain charger with a 104 mm waist and women's-specific lengths of 158, 165 and 172 cm. It is made in Austria with an engineered poplar core, a pre-preg fiberglass layup and a variable-width Titanal sheet, and it uses post-consumer recycled content in the base, sidewalls and tip inlay.

Flat-top construction, full ABS sidewalls and the Titanal layer add torsional stiffness, power, dampness and stability for charging on harder snow. The trade-off is weight: at 3,400 to 3,660 g per pair depending on length, this is a resort-first freeride ski rather than a light touring plank.

Black Diamond calls it a freerider's one-ski quiver, with optimal use at 70% soft snow and 30% hard snow. Rockered tip and tail with camber underfoot give nimble turnability and playful float in powder. It is for strong skiers who want one ski that handles everything.

Turn radius runs 15, 16 and 17 m across the 158, 165 and 172 cm lengths. We are happy to help you choose a length at the shop.

This is a ski we would happily ride every day of the season, powerful on groomers and a blast when it snows.

This guide is for alpine (downhill) skis. Ski length depends on your height, your ability, and how you like to ski. Use this chart as a starting point, then talk to us about the ski itself: rocker, width, and turn shape all change how long a ski feels.

Quick Rule

  • Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
  • Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
  • Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
  • Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.

Adjust For

  • Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
  • Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
  • Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
