Built for long missions and big descents, the Black Diamond Helio Carbon 95 strikes the perfect balance between uphill efficiency and downhill confidence. With a 95 mm waist, this ski thrives in everything from soft, wind-buffed powder to firm alpine snow, offering a blend of precision and playfulness that defines the modern touring ski.

The pre-preg carbon fiber layup maximizes torsional stiffness and dampness while keeping weight impressively low, delivering a smoother ride through variable terrain. At its heart lies an engineered paulownia wood core, chosen for its lively yet lightweight character, paired with full-length 5 mm beveled ABS sidewalls for added power transfer and edge hold. A Titanal binding mounting plate enhances retention and durability for aggressive descents, while the early-rise tip boosts flotation and trail-breaking efficiency on the skin track. An ABS tail protector with an integrated skin-clip notch keeps your setup secure from climb to drop-in.

Purpose-built for the backcountry explorer who demands speed on the way up and stability on the way down, the Helio Carbon 95 is your all-season ticket to high-alpine adventure.

Quick Rule

  • Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
  • Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
  • Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
  • Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.

Adjust For

  • Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
  • Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
  • Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
