Wyeast Ski Poles

The Wyeast is Folkrm's fixed-length ski pole, built around their extended EVA grip so you can choke up for traverses and quick adjustments on the move. It has an aircraft-grade 7075 aluminum shaft, an extended rubberized top cap for heel risers and binding adjustment, and a locking powder basket, and it weighs 268 g.

The trade-off of a fixed-length pole is that you pick your length once instead of changing it for the climb. In return there is no locking mechanism to adjust or freeze up, and the 64 cm grip gives you most of that range just by sliding your hand.

It is for resort and backcountry skiers who want one simple, durable pole that handles groomers, skin tracks and everything between. The strap is removable for avalanche terrain.

Folkrm sizes it at 105 cm for skiers 5'1" and under, 115 cm for 5'2" to 5'6", 125 cm for 5'7" to 5'11" and 135 cm for 6'0" and up, and suggests going 5 to 10 cm longer than a standard pole for backcountry use. Ask us and we will help you pick.

We love the Wyeast as an everyday pole that is just as at home on the chairlift as it is on a long skin up the Notch.
