The Hagan Pure 85 is an all-round touring ski with an 85mm waist and a 122-85-107mm shape. It is built on a light karuba and poplar core in a sidewall sandwich with micro-height ABS sidewalls and a tri-axle fiberglass wrap.

Around 1,260g per ski in the 164cm, it is light for long climbs, and the sidewall construction helps it hold an edge on firm snow. The trade-off of an 85mm waist is less float in deep powder than a wider ski.

It suits tourers of many levels who want a simple, dependable ski for classic touring routes. Skiers chasing deep powder will want something wider.

The 164 has a 16.5m radius, with a 330mm front tour rocker and 110mm tail rocker. Choose your usual touring length.

For classic tours and fun days in the mountains, the Pure 85 is an easy, friendly ski to live with.

Quick Rule

  • Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
  • Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
  • Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
  • Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.

Adjust For

  • Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
  • Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
  • Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
