The Mammut Alugator Pro Light Hoe is a UIAA 156 certified avalanche shovel that converts to a hoe. The blade locks on the shaft in a second position at 90 degrees, so you can pull snow toward you when clearing debris in a rescue.
The trade-off is a little extra weight for that versatility. It weighs 675 grams, slightly more than the standard Alugator Pro Light.
It is a great match for guides, patrollers and ski tourers who want the fastest possible snow moving in a burial scenario.
The hardened, anodized aluminum blade measures 24 by 27.5 cm, with a sharpened, tilt-resistant edge, integrated steps and stabilization ribs. The oval telescopic shaft has an automatic spring lock and a D-grip, extending from 68 cm collapsed to 90 cm. Attachment holes take a snow anchor or rescue sled. This listing is Black.
We love the Alugator Pro Light Hoe as a shovel that works as hard as you do.
