The Nordica Speedmachine J 2 is a two-buckle junior boot built on a 100 mm last with a soft 35 flex. It pairs a Triax shell with Nordica's Comfort Fit liner, two light alloy buckles, and standard ISO 5355 alpine soles.

The trade-off is support. A soft two-buckle boot makes skiing easier for small, light kids, but it will start to feel loose and underpowered once a child gets stronger and drives harder into the front of the boot.

For parents of young beginners and early intermediates who spend most of their time on groomers, this is a smart fit. Kids who are already skiing fast or starting to race will get more out of a stiffer three or four-buckle junior boot.

Nordica's Easy Entry instep uses soft plastic flaps so kids can get in and out with less of a fight, and the Weight Adjuster lets you tune the flex to your child's size. The liner is plush and warm for long days on the hill. Come see us for a boot fitting to get the size right.

We think the J 2 makes a great first real ski boot: warm, easy to put on, and soft enough that kids can actually bend it and learn to stand forward.

Ski boots are sized in Mondopoint, based on the length of your foot in centimeters. The chart below is a general reference for converting between sizing systems.

This chart is not a fitting. The only way to know your ski boot size is to be fit in person, either with a Boot Fitting at our shop or from a professional fitting you have had elsewhere. Sizing, shape, and volume vary by brand and model, and a performance fit is snugger than your street shoe. Unworn boots can be returned under our return policy, but a boot that doesn't fit can be a big hassle for your trip if you haven't tried it on.

Half Sizes

Ski boots are built with one shell for each full and half size, so a 27 and a 27.5 are the same boot with a different liner or footboard. That is why sizes are listed together, like 27/27.5.

Very few models differ from this. Scarpa is the main exception, pairing sizes the other way (for example, 26.5/27 share a shell). When a model is sized differently, we call it out on that product's page.
