The Völkl M7 Mantra is built to tackle all manner of frontside terrain and is aimed at expert all-mountain skiers. It uses a multilayer beech and poplar woodcore with Tailored Carbon Tips, a Tailored Titanal Frame and a Titanal binding platform.

Völkl builds it with a 4 Radius Drive sidecut, roughly 20 m in the shovel, 40 m from shovel to binding, 15 m under the binding and 25 m behind it, to make turn initiation predictable. Titanal content is tailored to length, with more metal in longer sizes for stiffness and power and less in shorter sizes for agility.

The trade-off with a damp, metal-laced ski is that it wants to be skied with intent. It can feel like a lot of ski for a relaxed cruiser, and it comes alive when you push it.

It suits strong intermediate to advanced skiers who ski aggressively all over the mountain. Lengths run 163 to 191 cm.

For skiers who want to charge every corner of the mountain, the M7 Mantra is an incredibly powerful, confidence-inspiring ski.

This guide is for alpine (downhill) skis. Ski length depends on your height, your ability, and how you like to ski. Use this chart as a starting point, then talk to us about the ski itself: rocker, width, and turn shape all change how long a ski feels.

Quick Rule

  • Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
  • Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
  • Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
  • Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.

Adjust For

  • Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
  • Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
  • Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
