The K2 Mindbender 96 is the heart of the new Mindbender line, a mid-90s all-mountain ski K2 built for a balanced, satisfying ride everywhere on the hill. It uses an All Terrain Rocker with mild camber underfoot, pronounced tip rocker and mild tail rocker.
Under the topsheet is an Aspen core for structure with Paulownia added to keep weight down, a Titanal I-Beam that covers about two thirds of the ski's width between the contact points, and Dark Matter Tech weighting in the forebody and mid-tail to calm vibration. K2 bonds it all with a bio resin that improves core bonding and cold-weather strength, and finishes it with a sintered base.
The honest trade-off is that a do-everything ski does not specialize. It will not float like a powder ski or snap like a pure carver, but it handles every snow type you meet in a normal day without asking you to switch skis.
It is aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers who want one ski for the whole mountain, from groomers to bumps to soft snow off the edges. Lengths run 168 to 183 cm; most skiers land between chin and forehead height.
If you want one pair of skis for every day of the Stowe season, the Mindbender 96 is a fantastic place to start.

This guide is for alpine (downhill) skis. Ski length depends on your height, your ability, and how you like to ski. Use this chart as a starting point, then talk to us about the ski itself: rocker, width, and turn shape all change how long a ski feels.

Quick Rule
- Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
- Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
- Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
- Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.
Adjust For
- Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
- Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
- Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
