The Maestrale RS is the stiffer, more powerful version of the Maestrale, and SCARPA calls it its most powerful alpine touring boot. This updated version pairs a Grilamid shell with a Pebax Rnew cuff for a 130 flex on a 101mm last, with Speed Lock 4 walk mode, a redesigned four-buckle closure with Booster Active Power Strap, and compatibility with both Tech and AT bindings.
The trade is that it is a touring boot first, engineered for expert backcountry skiers. If the plan is one boot that also runs in alpine GripWalk bindings at the resort, the 4-Quattro Pro's ISO 23223 sole is designed for that job.
Buy it if you ski hard in both directions and want real descent power at the top of a long climb. Newer touring skiers will find the standard Maestrale easier to live with. Women should look at the Gea RS, its women's counterpart.
The 101mm last and thermoformable Intuition Pro Flex Performance liner give a precise, locked-in fit. Sizing is Mondopoint, and a SCARPA half size shares its shell with the whole size above it.
The Maestrale RS is the boot for big backcountry days where the ski down matters as much as the skin up, and it rewards every bit of effort you put into it.
Ski boots are sized in Mondopoint, based on the length of your foot in centimeters. The chart below is a general reference for converting between sizing systems.
This chart is not a fitting. The only way to know your ski boot size is to be fit in person, either with a Boot Fitting at our shop or from a professional fitting you have had elsewhere. Sizing, shape, and volume vary by brand and model, and a performance fit is snugger than your street shoe. Unworn boots can be returned under our return policy, but a boot that doesn't fit can be a big hassle for your trip if you haven't tried it on.

Conversions are approximate and can differ by half a size between brands.
Ski boots are built with one shell for each full and half size, so a 27 and a 27.5 are the same boot with a different liner or footboard. That is why sizes are listed together, like 27/27.5.
Very few models differ from this. Scarpa is the main exception, pairing sizes the other way (for example, 26.5/27 share a shell). When a model is sized differently, we call it out on that product's page.
