The Völkl Mantra 88 W is a women's carving and all-mountain ski known for edge hold and precise carving. It uses a rocker-camber-rocker profile with tip and tail rocker and a 3D Radius sidecut, with long radii at the tip and tail for stability and a short mid-body radius for quick turn initiation.
Völkl builds it on a multilayer beech and poplar woodcore with Tailored Carbon Tips and a Tailored Titanal Frame, where the amount of metal scales with length, so longer sizes are stiffer and more powerful and shorter sizes stay agile. Full sidewalls and a P-Tex 2100 base finish it off.
The trade-off is that it is a precise, powerful ski that asks for good technique. Skiers who want a soft, forgiving cruiser will find it more ski than they need.
It suits intermediate to advanced women who love firm snow and fast groomers. Lengths run 149 to 170 cm. The construction carries over from last season with new graphics.
For women who want a ski that holds an edge at any speed, the Mantra 88 W is an incredible carver.
This guide is for alpine (downhill) skis. Ski length depends on your height, your ability, and how you like to ski. Use this chart as a starting point, then talk to us about the ski itself: rocker, width, and turn shape all change how long a ski feels.

Quick Rule
- Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
- Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
- Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
- Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.
Adjust For
- Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
- Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
- Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
