Maverick is Atomic's all-mountain line and CTI is the construction: carbon and titanal over a Power Woodcore of ash and poplar. The 96 is the waist. All-Mountain Rocker at 20/65/15 with early tip rise, a directional shape with minimal tail rocker, the wood-reinforced HRZN 3D Maverick tip, Duracap sidewalls, matte topsheet and an 87 degree side edge. Lengths 165 through 186.

Metal and carbon buy stability and charge for it in effort. This ski wants driving, and a skier sitting back finds it demanding rather than forgiving. At 96 underfoot it is not a powder ski. What it returns is a damp, quiet platform at speed.

This is the daily driver for an advanced skier wanting one pair for groomers, bumps and trees after a refresh. Lighter or more casual skiers get more from something without two reinforcement layers in it.

Ski it near your own height, slightly over if you like speed and open terrain. Come talk to us about mount point before we drill.

On a firm morning with fresh corduroy this thing is absurdly good, and it stays good long after the snow stops being nice.

This guide is for alpine (downhill) skis. Ski length depends on your height, your ability, and how you like to ski. Use this chart as a starting point, then talk to us about the ski itself: rocker, width, and turn shape all change how long a ski feels.

Quick Rule

  • Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
  • Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
  • Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
  • Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.

Adjust For

  • Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
  • Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
  • Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
