Freedom Ntn Binding Color

The Rottefella NTN Freedom is a step-in telemark binding for NTN boots. It has a free-pivot touring mode, flip-up climbing wires and a sideways release designed to help prevent injuries in a fall. A pair weighs about 1,500 g.

The trade-off is that the Freedom is built around NTN's duckbill-free boots, so it will not work with traditional 75 mm boots. If you are already in NTN, it gives you a releasable binding with real touring performance.

It is for telemark skiers who split time between the skin track and the resort. Torsional rigidity drives the ski edge, and Power Tube spring cartridges give consistent resistance as you drop into a turn. Green (soft), blue (medium) and red (stiff) cartridges are available separately to tune the feel.

The binding is symmetrical, so it works on either foot, and it comes with 110 mm brakes. Large fits Garmont NTN boots 26 mondo and up or Scarpa and Crispi 26.5 and up; small fits Garmont 25.5 and down or Scarpa and Crispi 26 and down.

We think the Freedom is one of the best ways to make NTN tele skiing work for big backcountry days and resort laps alike.
