The Mountain Trainer 2 Winter GTX is Salewa's insulated winter hiker. It has a 1.4 mm suede upper with a tough fabric panel and a 360 degree rubber rand, a GORE-TEX membrane to keep your feet dry, and wool in the AlpineWool heel collar for warmth.

The trade-off of a warm, burly winter shoe is that it is more boot than a light summer hiker. That is the point, though: the Vibram Icetrek II outsole with Artic Grip compound and wider lugs is made for snow and ice.

It is for winter hiking and everyday winter wear, from snowy trails to icy parking lots.

Salewa's 3F System links the instep, sole and heel for flexibility and support, it has a 12 mm drop, and climbing-style lacing with flat laces lets you dial in the fit. Come try a pair on and we will help you find the right size.
