The Icecrusher GTX Warm Mitt takes Auclair's top alpine construction and puts it in a mitten. It uses a GORE-TEX ePE High Performance X membrane for waterproof, breathable protection, a PFAS-free DWR-treated goat leather shell with 4-way stretch polyester, and recycled 3M Thinsulate insulation.
Mitts are warmer than gloves because your fingers share heat. The trade-off is dexterity: buckles, zippers and phone screens are easier in a glove. For cold resort days and people who run cold, that trade is worth it every time.
Outseam construction keeps the seams on the outside for a smoother, more comfortable feel on the hand, and the leather adds durability where a mitt takes the most abuse.
Choose your usual glove size. Leather softens with use, so snug on day one is the right fit.
This is the mitt we hand to anyone who tells us their fingers are always the first thing to quit on a cold day.
