The MSP 99 returns as 4FRNT's most awarded ski. Ski Magazine, Outside, and Blister have all put it at the top of the all-mountain category, and it has held that position through multiple redesigns rather than coasting on one good season.

This version is a real rework. 4FRNT took 10% off the running surface with a more gradual early rise in the tip and tail, and softened the flex by roughly 6%. The result is a ski that asks less of you to get on and off an edge, with quicker turn initiation and more rebound out of the turn.

Underfoot it is an aspen hardwood core with edge to edge titanal laminate. The aspen gives you a smooth damp ride and good binding retention. The titanal adds torsional rigidity without killing the liveliness, which is where the edge hold comes from.

A balanced rocker and camber profile keeps it intuitive on groomers, stable through chop, and floaty enough on a soft day. A 99mm waist is an honest width for skiing here: wide enough for the day it actually snows, narrow enough to hold on the hardpack you will ski the other five days.

Features

  • Aspen hardwood core for a damp ride and long-term durability
  • Edge to edge titanal laminate for torsional rigidity and edge hold
  • Running surface shortened 10% with more gradual tip and tail rise
  • Flex softened approximately 6% for quicker initiation
  • Balanced rocker and camber profile
  • 5mm camber underfoot across all lengths
  • Awarded by Ski Magazine, Outside, and Blister in the all-mountain category

This guide is for alpine (downhill) skis. Ski length depends on your height, your ability, and how you like to ski. Use this chart as a starting point, then talk to us about the ski itself: rocker, width, and turn shape all change how long a ski feels.

Quick Rule

  • Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
  • Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
  • Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
  • Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.

Adjust For

  • Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
  • Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
  • Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
