The Atomic Backland XTD 105 W GW is a women's touring boot built on a 100 mm last with a 105 flex. The shell and cuff are carbon-loaded polyamide using Atomic's Prolite construction, with investment cast tech inserts and GripWalk ISO 23223 soles. Atomic lists it at about 1,300 g per boot in a 24/24.5.
The trade-off is the middle ground. It skis with more authority than an ultralight touring boot, but it gives up some downhill power and stiffness compared to a heavier freeride or alpine boot.
It suits women who tour regularly and still want a boot they trust on the way down, including on resort days with GripWalk bindings. Skiers who want a race-weight boot or maximum drive on firm snow will find better matches at either end of the range.
The Free/Lock 4.5 mechanism gives 74 degrees of cuff motion, with forward lean adjustable at 13, 15, or 17 degrees. Two aluminum buckles, a Cross Lace 2.5 closure, and a 40 mm power strap lock things down, and the washable 3D Platinum Tour liner and Memory Fit shell can both be heat molded. Come see us for a boot fitting to get the size right.
We think this is a great all-around touring boot for women who split their time between skinning and skiing hard.
Ski boots are sized in Mondopoint, based on the length of your foot in centimeters. The chart below is a general reference for converting between sizing systems.
This chart is not a fitting. The only way to know your ski boot size is to be fit in person, either with a Boot Fitting at our shop or from a professional fitting you have had elsewhere. Sizing, shape, and volume vary by brand and model, and a performance fit is snugger than your street shoe. Unworn boots can be returned under our return policy, but a boot that doesn't fit can be a big hassle for your trip if you haven't tried it on.

Half Sizes
Ski boots are built with one shell for each full and half size, so a 27 and a 27.5 are the same boot with a different liner or footboard. That is why sizes are listed together, like 27/27.5.
Very few models differ from this. Scarpa is the main exception, pairing sizes the other way (for example, 26.5/27 share a shell). When a model is sized differently, we call it out on that product's page.
