The Auclair Heated Liner is a thin, powered liner glove built with Ewool, a Quebec company that specializes in heated gear. It runs on three adjustable heat levels and is designed to slide inside a larger mitt or shell rather than be worn as a stand-alone glove.
That layering design is the trade-off. On its own it is a liner, so it is not the thing to grab for a wet spring day. The payoff is that you can pair it with the shell you already love and add real, controllable heat only when you need it. The charger works with both North American and European outlets, which matters if you travel to ski.
This is for people whose hands get cold no matter what they wear: early chair riders, ski patrol, liftees, coaches standing at the bottom of a course, and anyone who has given up on a day because of their fingers.
Choose your usual glove size. It needs to fit snug against the hand so the heat reaches your fingers, with room left in the outer mitt or shell for it to slide in.
We think this is one of the best ways to save a frigid January day: warm hands change everything about how the day feels.
