The Hybrid XC Mitt is the warmest version of Auclair's Hybrid XC Nordic line. It shares the same build: a water-resistant nylon shell, a durable Amara palm for grip on ski poles, and EC Thinsulate insulation, rated at warmth level 2.
A mitt keeps your fingers together, so it holds heat better than a glove at the same weight. The trade-off is dexterity: pole straps, zippers and snack wrappers are easier with fingers. For cold mornings and easy-paced tours, the warmth wins.
It is for cross-country skiers, snowshoers and winter walkers who want light protection without bulk. A soft brushed tricot lining, a rib cuff, a pull tab for a secure fit and a soft nose-wipe thumb round it out.
Choose your usual glove size. A close fit gives the best feel on the pole grip.
This is the mitt we reach for on cold early-season trail days, when a little extra warmth makes the whole outing better.
