The BC Link Mini is BCA's durable single-unit radio designed specifically for backcountry recreation. It is a 2-watt FRS/GMRS-compatible radio with 22 FRS channels and 121 privacy codes, weighing 6 oz (170 g) and measuring 6.25 x 2.5 x 1.25 inches.
It lets separated partners talk, share plans and pass along real-time observations in the backcountry or in-bounds, in all kinds of weather. BCA rates terrain range at 0.5 to 6 miles and line-of-sight range up to 32 miles. The trade-off is that terrain always wins: ridgelines and trees cut range, so a radio supports good travel habits rather than replacing them.
