BCA Dozer 2T-S Avalanche Shovel 26/27

The BCA Dozer 2T-S is a full-size avalanche shovel with a 9 inch snow saw built into the shaft. It pairs the large 10 by 11 inch blade and long shaft of the Dozer 2T with a 420 stainless steel saw, so you carry one tool for digging, cutting limbs and running snow stability tests. Blade and shaft are 6061 T6 aluminum.

The trade-off for the big blade and built-in saw is weight and pack space. At 868 g it is heavier than a compact shovel, and the large blade wants a pack with room for it, but that size moves a lot of snow fast when it matters.

It is built for backcountry skiers and riders heading into avalanche terrain who want a serious digging tool and like the idea of a saw always on hand. It has a stompable flat blade edge, a cored-out handle and an extendable T-grip, but no hoe mode.

The handle and shaft collapse to 44 cm, the assembled shovel measures 65 cm compressed and 87 cm fully extended, and the ovo-concave shaft resists breaking when prying and gives a better palm grip.
