The Vena Cor is a new Black Crows bird designed for all-terrain skiing, equally at home on the slopes as in deep powder. It is 100 mm underfoot with a 17 m radius, built on a poplar wood core with glass fibers, a semi-cap construction and ABS sidewalls all around. The 174 measures 129/100/120 mm and weighs 1650 g per ski.
The trade-off of a 100 mm all-terrain ski is that it gives up a little quickness on hard groomers in exchange for float. It stays composed on firm snow, and skiers who live on corduroy will want something narrower.
It is for skiers who want one ski that does everything. A double rocker with a fish tail and a classic medium camber underfoot give excellent float, a short radius and a lively, responsive flex that rebounds from turn to turn.
The recommended mount point is 5 cm behind center. Come talk to us about the right length for how and where you ski.
We love the Vena Cor as a do-it-all ski that turns every kind of day on the mountain into a good one.
This guide is for alpine (downhill) skis. Ski length depends on your height, your ability, and how you like to ski. Use this chart as a starting point, then talk to us about the ski itself: rocker, width, and turn shape all change how long a ski feels.

Quick Rule
- Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
- Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
- Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
- Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.
Adjust For
- Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
- Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
- Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
