The CAST Brake Lock and Climbing Bail Assembly 2.0 is a pair of climbing bail pads with the brake lock mechanism attached, for the CAST Freetour 2.0 binding. It sits under the Look Pivot heel and is the part that turns the heel into a touring heel.
The trade-off is that it is a replacement part. It needs the rest of the Freetour 2.0 system to work, and the screws are sold separately in the CAST Screw Hardware Pack.
It is for Freetour 2.0 owners replacing a worn or damaged assembly, or setting up a second pair of skis. It fits only the 2.0 system.
A lever locks the brakes up for climbing: flip it toward the tail and step down, and the brakes stay raised. Two wire climbing risers flip up for 8 and 12 degrees of heel lift, in addition to flat.
We think the brake lock and bails are what make the Freetour so easy to live with on the skin track, simple, quick and reliable.
