The CAST Freetour 2.0 Upgrade Kit converts a Look Pivot 15 or 18 alpine binding into a hybrid touring system. A simple interchange lets you climb on a lightweight tech toe, bringing uphill weight down to about 1000g per ski, then swap back to descend with the reliability of the Pivot alpine heel. It offers multiple climbing riser options with elastic travel, release values from 6 to 15, and is built from machined aluminum, stainless steel and durable polymers.
The trade-off is that this is a kit, not a full binding. It requires a Look Pivot 15 or 18, and transitions involve swapping toe pieces, which is the price of getting true alpine binding performance on the way down.
It is for freeride skiers who want to earn their turns without giving up the binding they trust for hard skiing, from sidecountry laps to full touring days.
The AFDs are compatible with Alpine ISO 5355, GripWalk ISO 23223 and Touring ISO 9523 boot norms, making the system adaptable to most freeride and touring boots.
We think the Freetour 2.0 is a brilliant way to turn a favorite Pivot setup into a one-ski quiver that climbs well and charges hard.
