Dynafit ski crampons give your skins real bite when the skin track turns hard and icy. They fit Dynafit TLT-style bindings, and the width is the crampon's inside dimension, so you pick a size slightly wider than your ski's waist. The 100, 110 and 120 mm sizes are the Quick In drop-in style, and each width is color coded so you can grab the right pair fast.
The trade-off is a little drag. With crampons engaged you lose some glide and stride, which is exactly why you only clip them on for the firm, steep sections and stash them in the pack the rest of the time.
They are for ski tourers who climb on refrozen spring snow, wind-scoured ridges or early-morning ice, where a skin alone starts to slip. On a narrow traverse above a runout, that extra grip is what lets you keep moving with confidence.
Weights run from about 89 g for the 80 mm to 110 g for the 120 mm. The 80 mm is green, 100 mm orange, 110 mm black and 120 mm red. Measure your ski at the binding and size up from there.
We think a pair of Dynafit crampons is one of the best investments in your touring kit, cheap insurance that turns a sketchy icy climb into a fun one.
