The Faction Agent 1 is the narrowest ski in Faction's Agent touring series, with an 86mm waist and a progressive flat tail. A lightweight karuba core sits between fiberglass layers with 8 to 12 unidirectional carbon strips woven in on each side for strength and stiffness.

Tip and tail rocker with traditional camber give it real edge hold on firm snow, and the narrow waist keeps it light and efficient on the climb, about 1,490g per ski in the 178. The trade-off is less float in deep powder than the wider Agent 2 or 3.

It suits skiers who prioritize the uphill: long tours, fitness laps, spring missions and ski mountaineering. Powder-focused skiers will want a wider ski.

Lengths run 154 to 186cm, with the radius growing from 13 to 21m. Faction rates the flex 7 out of 10, so it feels supportive without being harsh.

For fast, efficient days in the mountains and crisp turns on firm snow, the Agent 1 is a light, nimble ski we love.

Quick Rule

  • Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
  • Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
  • Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
  • Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.

Adjust For

  • Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
  • Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
  • Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
